The artist behind SOLYX

Coral

A finished Solyx piece caught in golden light

Coral, the artist behind Solyx, approaches crochet as an act of remembrance — an ancient technology resurfacing through the body, DNA, and soul. Her work is rooted in ancestral textile practices, where geometry and devotion intertwine to form living art. To Coral, crochet is far more than hook and thread; like the way a flower blooms, it is a language of the universe — a form of mathematical coding that reveals the artistry inherent in structure, pattern, and repetition.

Working with a mix of natural, synthetic, and upcycled fibres — cotton and bamboo, yarn reclaimed from discarded knitwear, detailed with gemstones and recycled jewelry — Coral creates garments that are breathable, sensual, and grounding, honoring both the body and the earth.

She is also known for custom costume creations, including balaclavas, hoods, and bonnets inspired by nature’s wisdom, its creatures, and archetypes — that desired transmutation into new art. Coral works often with performers bringing a character to life on stage, and collaborates on custom commissions, allowing imagination, play, and identity to be fully expressed through form.

The process becomes a steady devotion — soft but powerful, an act where intention is physicalized and garments become talismans.

Each Solyx creation is a meditative journey. As Coral weaves stitch by stitch, she holds the wearer’s essence in her heart, embedding spirit, protection, and empowerment into the fabric itself.

Solyx exists to evoke power, elegance, and embodied freedom. Seeing her work worn in motion — dancing, expressing, and alive within music and community — completes the circuit, allowing the art to fully awaken.
